Washing potatoes or other vegetables can be a time consuming task for large restaurants or other food industries like canteens. Automating the cleaning process of these vegetables before cooking saves not only on time, but also manpower and water.

Automatic vegetable washing

The Dreener line by Firex is an industrial vegetable washer. The vegetables are placed in the machine and water is filled automatically controlled by a level sensor and solenoid valve. The timer sets the desired washing time. Removable walls allow to divide the washing tank into several compartments to wash different types and quantities of vegetables at the same time. The machine has a perforated false bottom that allows dirt to go through, but holds the vegetables inside. There are three high pressure nozzles that clean the dirt that might be left in the machine after the washing cycle.

It can wash 100 kilo of dirty potatoes in 15 minutes. The washing machine can be accessorised with manually tilting baskets of two dimensions for the extraction of the product. It is available in volumes of 150, 225 and 300 litres.

Other non-contact parts are made of AISI 304 stainless steel. Fully customisable, the washing cycle can include ultrasonic bath, recycled water, new water, compressed air, siliconization, hot air drying, and other options as required for your specific application.Throughout the cleaning operation, the pressure and temperature of the various fluids are monitored to assure optimum performance. The Steriline EDM External Decontaminating Machine has been engineered from the ground up to improve the processing of vials, ampoules, and cartridges. Its small footprint design makes it easy to add to existing lines as well as new facilities and makes access for maintenance quick and simple.EDM features an impressive capacity of up to 48,000 pcs/h, and can handle all common vial sizes from 2R to 100H. EDM has an entry conveyor belt that is loaded either by trays or by an upstream machineâ€™s conveyor. The machine can also be connected in-line to a downstream machine (suchÂ as a labeling machine or tray-loader).The integrated control system, which includes PLC and touchscreen HMI, automatically controls all the machineâ€™s processes and adjusts parameters according to various glassware sizes and types. The production of the latest high value pharmaceuticals often requires aseptic handling of all aspects of the production system. Traditionally, external decontamination of vials in aseptic conditions was time-consuming and inefficient.
