Mixing and freeze-drying in one step

The Wet mill 90 AHM from Hosokawa Alpine is a laboratory device for the wet grinding of small to ultra-small product batches down to the nano fineness range. It is suitable for small amounts of product and for development trials – also in the nanotechnology sector. Extremely small grinding beads (< 0.2 mm) can be employed with this mill, and investigations regarding the stabilization of suspensions in the submicron range can be executed.

In contrast to the other AHM mill types, the laboratory version has a variable-speed direct drive; it is easy to fill in, empty, and clean up due to its pivoted support.

More control in your flash drying system

The Micron Dryer flash dryer, Drymeister® (DMR-H) from Hosokawa, can dry temperature-sensitive products, safely, even under increased temperatures, in a matter of seconds. Process parameters like classifier speed and outlet temperature can be adapted to control moisture content and particle size of the end product. The drying system is very flexible, handling moisture content fluctuations from a few % up to more than 80% in suspensions, slurries, pastes, dough, filter cakes and wet powders. The Drymeister® requires 75% less space and uses about 30-40% less energy per kilogram of evaporated water than conventional methods. The Flash combines drying system can be used in different industries such as the food industry, the chemical industry with applications in products such as pesticides, inorganic pigments and fish feed.

Milling with high purity and minimal contamination

Outperform conventional impact mills for maximum fineness

The Long Gap Mill – LGM from Hosokawa Alpine can be used for various processes, e.g. grinding and drying as well as coating or mixing a product. Several processes can also be carried out at the same time with this machine in one single process step.

It reaches a fineness of maximum 97% < 5 – 500 µm, depending on the product. Either dry materials, slurry or wet cakes can be processed with this mill.

The range of products that can be processed with the LGM is extremely wide. The most common applications are size reduction of mineral powders, plastics and rubber, soya, wheat bran, carbon black, cellulose and derivatives; Impact drying of hydrogels, cellulose derivatives, ceramic slurries and coating of Fine fillers with stearates or silanes.

Hinge-back housing makes the machine easy to clean when changing product

The Toner classifiers TSP and TTSP from Hosokawa Alpine are one- or two-stages ultrafine classifiers that were especially developed for dedusting toner and that have as feature a high precision of cut for optimum coarse products.

The demands made of the end-product quality in toner processing are so high that particle counters (Coulter Counter) are employed for quality control. Specification of the dedusted coarse material is given in number %, whereby the specification generally permits 3-10 number% < 5 µm.

TTSP tandem toner classifier is an improvement of the TSP toner classifier, in the precision of cut; reaching a higher loading factor. This makes it possible to almost treble the throughput in comparison with the TSP.
