A universal mixing system with precise, reproducible results and safe operation

The Master Plant homogenizing and emulsifying system from IKA was designed specifically to meet the production mixing needs of the pharmaceuticals industry but has also proven useful in the production of food, beverages, cosmetics, and chemicals.  Several mixing heads are interchangeable depending on the process and desired results.  Each mixing head can be heated or cooled to control product temperature simultaneous to the mixing process. Flexible PTFE scrapers move with the mixing head and keep product from adhering to the vessel walls. Products of up to 100.000 mPas viscosity can be processed.  The GMP homogenizing systems  can be fully discharged without the need for additional pumping and are available in capacities from 10 to 4.000 liters.

Dispelling the myths around cbd products

Due to the uncertainties around CBD production and use, all eyes are on cannabis products and their effects. It is under heavy scrutiny and hence one bad product can easily taint public opinion and serve as misinformation about the industry at large. Thus, CBD oil manufacturers must actively work to distinguish themselves as experts in safety and quality. Most producers of CBD oil infused products such as gummies, encounter their fair share of difficulties, transferring their product to widespread application. This is because incorporating cannabis within vaping oils, lotions, food, and other products for public usage is an intricate process. Extracting CBD oil from hemp

Traditionally, the most common extraction methods used in the creation of cannabis crude oil have been CO2 extraction, light hydrocarbon extraction, and warm ethanol extraction. However, for crude CBD oil, cold-ethanol extraction process offers a highly time-efficient and effective solution. This is because it provides the benefit of bypassing several steps in the hemp processing facilities, reducing the extraction process of crude CBD oil down from several days to just a few hours. After this process the crude CBD oil is then distilled or put through various other processes depending on their application and the respective country legislations.

Continuous vacuum belt dryer for efficient, gentle drying of concentrates

Devex vacuum dryers are designed for continuous loading of liquid or solid products and the continuous discharge of dried granulate. The end product is discharged in GMP clean room conditions ready to be further processed, making this ideal for food and pharmaceutical uses.

Extremely high quality dispersions of consistently sized particles with a very high throughput

The IKA MK 2000 is a high-performance inline colloid mill capable of performing wet and fine milling of tough and grainy raw materials. The MK 2000 is especially suitable for the production of colloidal solutions or extremely fine emulsions and suspensions. Excellent dispersing performance allows the IKA Colloid Mill MK 2000 to be used for continuous processes, providing a narrow distribution range of ground particles in a single pass. For challenging milling tasks the colloid mill can be installed into a recirculation loop with a working vessel by means of tube connections.

The conical geometry of the milling tools enables an axial displacement of the stator for an infinite adjustment of the milling gap. This allows influencing the dispersing effect, particularly regarding tasks with variable raw materials.

As neither the rotor nor the stator is slotted throughout, the probability of particles passing through the generator untreated is negligibly small. These collective features enable the IKA Colloid Mill MK to achieve the finest particle size reduction, thereby contending with a high pressure homogenizer by attaining similar dispersing results at higher flow rates.

The machines are designed for easy and reliable scalability and sizes are available with flow rates from 200 to 80,000 liters per hour.

Homogenization with pressure shock to achieve extremely small particle sizes

The HPH High Pressure Homogenizer from IKA uses one or more piston pumps to apply pressure up to 2000 bar to the liquid medium to be homogenized.  The fluid is then fed through a homogenizing valve which very quickly reduces the pressure to the atmosphere.  This abrupt change in pressure in the moving fluid causes cavitation, a high degree of turbulent flow, and internal shearing forces in the fluid all of which serve to break up and distribute larger particles forming a very fine emulsion.  The pressure applied on the uphill side of the homogenizing valve is infinitely adjustable as is the flow rate through the valve, so the process can be easily adapted to achieve a wide range of outcomes and to accommodate fluids with different flow characteristics.  All parts that contact the product flow are stainless steel and autoclavable and the entire unit is designed for robustness and long service life.
