DYNO^®-MILL MULTI LAB (ML) from WAB-GROUP^® is an adaptable laboratory agitator bead mill, well-suited for small-scale productions and R&D in biotechnology. Suitable in continuous and discontinuous operations, the bead mill specifically designed for smaller applications can utilize ultra-fine grinding beads as small as 0.1mm. It has adjustable grinding chamber sizes, material selection, and adaptable grinding technology. It incorporates two grinding principles in one mill: the DYNO^® agitator disc and the patented DYNO^®-ACCELERATOR.

Discontinuous operation utilizes grinding vessels of 0.15 l and 0.3 l to handle low-viscosity suspensions. The batches range from 85 ml to 170 ml. Continuous operation is suitable for processing highly fluid to viscous, pumpable products.  It employs grinding containers of 0.15, 0.3, 0.6, and 1.4 l to process batch sizes exceeding 500 ml. Using superior ceramic components such as SiC and ZrO₂ ensures no metal contamination and an extended service life.

Kneading, mixing and extruding in one continuous process

The Extrud-O-Mix from Hosokawa Micron is an efficient extruder that kneads, mixes, and extrudes in one continuous process; as a standalone unit or in combination with other process equipment. Perfect for mixing solids and liquids into very viscous and homogeneous pastes as well as plastic masses, and moreover it has better particle dispersion in comparison to higher pressure systems, is also less expensive to buy and less expensive to operate. The high shear mixer can be used for a variety of applications like mixing base powders with liquids to form uniform pastes, homogenizing filter cakes, blending wet material with powders or liquids, homogenizing powders with liquids into a plastic mass followed by extrusion and pre-feeding of caked masses.

Compact high impact mixer for large volumes

The Schugi® Flexomix from Hosokawa Micron is a high-impact mixer developed to achieve a highly homogeneous mixture of powders and liquids. It is unlike any other continuous mixer with its vertical cylindrical chamber and vertical rotating shaft and is capable of handling high volumes of product. Its high rotational speed and turbulent mixing keep the mixer chamber clean; it provides accurate dosing of both liquid and solid components and is suitable for even the stickiest of media. Liquids of varying viscosity and steam can be added using atomizing nozzles mounted to the upper part of the chamber just above the upper mixing blades.

Gentle pressure for granulates with a loose structure and large surface area

With the Bextruder BX from Hosokawa Alpine, the product is gently pressed to granulate with a loose structure and large surface area.

In the product chamber of the Bextruder two rotors operate in counter rotation. The upper rotor ensures good mixture and carries the material downwards. The lower extrusion rotor compresses the material and extrudes it through the screen basket.

The Bextruder is often used in pellets with a porous structure and large surface area, easily dispersible granulate, drinks powder, sauces and soups, detergent, pesticides and so on.

More control in your flash drying system

The Micron Dryer flash dryer, Drymeister® (DMR-H) from Hosokawa, can dry temperature-sensitive products, safely, even under increased temperatures, in a matter of seconds. Process parameters like classifier speed and outlet temperature can be adapted to control moisture content and particle size of the end product. The drying system is very flexible, handling moisture content fluctuations from a few % up to more than 80% in suspensions, slurries, pastes, dough, filter cakes and wet powders. The Drymeister® requires 75% less space and uses about 30-40% less energy per kilogram of evaporated water than conventional methods. The Flash combines drying system can be used in different industries such as the food industry, the chemical industry with applications in products such as pesticides, inorganic pigments and fish feed.

Ultrafine pill mill proved to process even sticky materials in a wide chamber housing

The Contraplex Wide Chamber Mill – Contraplex CW from Hosokawa Alpine is an ultrafine pin mill, with two driven pin discs. Designed aiming to achieve high-power fineness values at a range of approximately 10 to 500 µm.

The fineness can be adjusted by altering the fine pin mill disc speeds. The centrifugal forces acting on both discs allow the processing of humid, greasy, and sticky products, primarily as a result of the utilization of the design within the wide chamber housing.
